What does Sheaf actually do?
It takes one large text or log file and splits it into smaller numbered pieces, each sized to fit inside an AI chat’s limit. It never breaks a line in half, and joining the pieces back together gives you the original file exactly.
Does it work offline?
Yes — completely. Sheaf has no network connection at all. Your files are read and split on your own Mac, and nothing is ever sent anywhere.
Which AIs does it size for?
There are ready-made size targets for Claude, GPT‑4o and Gemini, plus a custom option where you set your own character or token budget. The pieces are plain text, so they work in any chat.
What kinds of files can it split?
Any plain-text file — console logs, exports, transcripts, CSV, source text, and so on. Sheaf recognises console logs, CSV and plain text and shows you the size, line count and a token estimate before you split.
